I've always been on the fence, no pun intended about whether Americans should be enraged about Mexicans coming into the United State legal or not.
I've heard all the key notes, they take up all the jobs, they increase the crime rate, they are benefiting from living in the US but are not paying any taxes and to make matters worse the population is growing faster than any other ethic group.
But wait a second, are we judging them a little too harshly. I mean do we really, I mean Americans really want jobs picking fruit, working in hotels and kitchens, doing all sort of construction jobs haven't we become too good for that. Let's face it, the average American wants to be rich, that's what he/she dreams of while working their 30 plus 9 to 5. I mean we even look at working at Walmart as a job for the lower class.
I think America just hasn't found a place for the Mexican Americans. There's clearly not enough jobs that pay a living wage for them. There aren't enough for legal American citizens. So where or what do we do with the Mexicans that are coming over the fence by the millions?
We don't want to make America so bad of a place to live that they would happily go back to Mexico to better their chances. Hell, if that happens. I'll cross the boarder in the trunk of car.
Here's what I think, the answer is multi-layered and lies within a question. Why is Mexico so bad that they want to leave by the millions. The drug wars, a government that's rifled with corruption and internal conflicts that makes the country run sluggish, disorganized and cause its citizens to feel abandoned
and left without any recourse other than to take a chance at a better life by crossing over to America.
So what do we do, if we didn't spend billions of dollars on a useless war, maybe we could spend a few billion by helping out another government who couldn't handle it citizens, Mexico. No! But wait...the investment maybe worth our future. See, if we helped Mexico our neighbor maybe so many Mexicans wouldn't come here to begin with, because they might have a better chance at making a better life for themselves at in Mexico. Do you really think they like stuffing themselves in trunks of cars, leaving their families, risking jail or worse.
America is going to spend literally 50 billion to house illegal aliens, providing them with an education, health care and public services. If we spent just a few billion caring for a country right next to us instead of the middle east, it might save us from the prevailing problems of immigration now and in the future.
Just a thought
